A Vision of Third Horizon Education

Is education preparing next generations for flourishing in a world of turbulence and increasing constraint? Is passing on the knowledge of generations to date sufficient for that preparation?
Using the three horizons model of future consciousness I will make the case that we have passed a critical point where the answer to these questions is emphatically no. Knowledge, as what we inherit from the past, has to be de-emphasised and replaced by creativity in the context of future consciousness. That creativity needs to be guided to address the survival and regeneration challenges of humanity becoming a harmonious component of the earth system rather than at war with it.
If we redefine ‘university’ on those lines as the set of learning processes that every global citizen needs to go through then we will envision something very different from our current state and commercially run institutional forms.
What might a University of the Third Horizon look like?
